Who we are

AS Training & Consultancy (Scotland) Ltd is Scotland’s leading provider of rescue training and occupational safety training for those working in hazardous outdoor environments. Alongside our sister company, Adventure Scotland Ltd we provide practical, relevant training and sound advice for rescue services and organisations that operate in the fields of education, environmental research, power generation, fish farming, forestry, agriculture, tourism and civil engineering.
Our aim is to enable safe action that gets the job done. We will help you to identify significant risk areas and will recommend practical controls designed to reduce risk to acceptable working levels.
Whether the implementation of practical controls requires implementing safe systems of work, providing specialist training or the provision of specialist safety cover on the ground, we can usually assist you directly with a full package of measures.
From start to finish, you will experience a high standard of safety, service and presentation.

Our Skills & Experience

We are a team of professionals with unmatched experience and technical qualifications in upland and high angle terrain, inland water and marine environments.
We work extensively with Scotland's emergency services providing:
  • Swiftwater and Flood Rescue training.
  • Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Powerboat training.
  • Training for trainers in Swiftwater and Flood Rescue (we have trained in excess of 80 instructors for the Scottish Fire & Rescue Services)
  • We act as technical advisors and adventurous activity safety management consultants to two Scottish Local Authorities and a number of other outdoor providers.
We provide CPD training to local authority staff to enable them to lead others on adventurous ventures.
We have an excellent working knowledge of health and safety legislation as it applies to working or recreating in an outdoor environment. We believe that we can successfully separate myth and legend from realistic and sensible best practice.
We have worked with film and television production companies providing safety backup and advice, and our staff have appeared on a number of programmes promoting outdoor activities in Scotland.
