New Website We have re-launched our website, marketing material and information brochures with a brand new look!
Our New Mobile Training Unit Tired of lifting rescue & training equipment in and out of our trusty van (especially Frank our professional on demand water rescue victim!), we have instead purchased our very own MTU.
A title a wee bit grand for a box trailer you might say… but wait until you see it all kitted out inside… internal photos will follow soon.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Services gearing up for flood response. As Training, have recently won a tender to provide Swiftwater Rescue Technician Training to the seven Scottish Fire and Rescue Services through the Scottish Fire Services College at Gullane in East Lothian.
Courses will be delivered mainly from our base on the Tay at Grandtully and others in the Borders and on Speyside. The courses being delivered are independently accredited by Rescue 3 International, who are the foremost providers of this form of training worldwide. Through partnership with Rescue 3 UK, the training is also accredited via the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and successful completion allows students to gain Higher Education credits that could ultimately contribute towards a degree in Rescue Studies.
Training is being provided through to Rescue 3 Instructor level.
The First Swiftwater Rescue Technician Advanced course in Scotland. AS Training, in conjunction with Rescue 3 UK, recently ran the first SRT Advanced course in Scotland. Based at Grandtully, Perthshire, a mixture of professional divers, outdoor instructors and trainers spent four days practicing advanced rope rescue skills, night search and rescue techniques and rescue management.
We aim to run open Advanced courses as demand requires, to supplement our present programme of SRT 1 courses.
The First Scottish Awareness Level course for the Ambulance Service AS Training was delighted to be involved in running the first Awareness Level course in Scotland for the Scottish Ambulance Service. We put 20 members of the National Risk & Resilience Department through their paces for the day. Along side this, we have recently run a Swift Water Technician 1 course –fully booked by Ambulance personnel. |
